Michael
A. Mocny, PT, Co-owner and Director of Active Physical
Therapy. Mr. Mocny has expertise in manual therapeutic treatment
of orthopedic disorders, acute and chronic pain management, temporomandibular
disorders, work injury prevention and rehabilitation, sports injury
prevention and rehabilitation.
Involved with clinical
education and clinical research, he lectures on topics related to
spinal dysfunction and analysis of muscular pain. His clinical research
involves a digital dolorimeter which he patented in 1993.
He is a graduate of Bishop
Diego High School and Santa Barbara City College. He received his
physical therapy degree from California State University at Northridge
and UCLA Hospital and Clinics. Mr. Mocny has been a registered physical
therapist since 1981. His affiliations include the Arthritis Foundation,
North American Academy of Musculoskeletal Medicine, American Medical
Equestrian Association and American Physical Therapy Association.
He lives in Santa Barbara
with his wife, Monica, son, Anthony and daughter Peri. His community
involvement includes volunteer work at the Santa Barbara Old Mission
and helps in the medical coverage of the athletic events at Bishop
Diego High School. He is a member of the Santa Barbara Athletic
Round Table and Los Padres Trail Riders.
